ARTIST PROFILE

Blink

Formed initially as a quartet 4 years ago out of a collaboration between pianist Alcyona and French saxophonist/clarinettist Robin Fincker, Blink has been a trio for over a year with percussionist/drummer Paul Clarvis.

A member of London’s Loop Collective, the trio play mostly original material by Alcyona and Robin combining influences from various sources of swing, classical music, rock, free improvisation and world music.

They recently recorded their debut album in Abbey Road, which will be available in Spring 2008, featuring 9 original tracks and a piece by Harrison Birtwhistle.

Blink have performed with French saxophonists Guillaume Orti and Stéphanr Payen, poet Paul Hyland and quartet Solid Strings.
