American saxophonist and composer who has recorded prolifically as both a leader and a sideman. His latest album and his debut for the ECM label is “The Sirens” (2013), a song cycle based on Homer’s “The Odyssey”. An all star band features Potter (tenor & soprano sax, bass clarinet), Craig Taborn (piano), David Virelles (prepared piano, celeste, harmonium), Larry Grenadier (double bass) and Eric Harland (drums).
"A highly impressive piece of work with Potter's highly melodic, vividly descriptive themes superbly played by a brilliant all star band."
"With its skilful mix of acoustic and electronic sounds “Circuits” is a hugely successful album that combines intelligence and sophistication with raw excitement in pretty much equal measures."
