ARTIST PROFILE

Phil Robson & the IMS Quintet

All star international group assembled by guitarist Phil Robson to play music on the theme “communication-ancient to modern” commissioned by Derby Jazz. The quintet undertook a national tour of the UK in January 2011 with Robson on guitar plus Mark Turner (saxophones), Gareth Lockrane (flutes & piccolo), Michael Janisch (double bass) and Ernesto Simpson (drums). It is hoped that the music will subsequently be recorded for a CD release.
