Sam Crockatt Quartet

Sam Crockatt is a young tenor saxophonist and a member of the North London based Loop Collective of young musicians. His recording debut on the Loop label “Howeird” (2008) features an all original programme and a line up including pianist Gwilym Simcock, bassist Oli Hayhurst and drummer Ben Reynolds. Influenced by John Coltrane, Joe Henderson and others he also likes to play standards, often with pick up rhythm sections.
Second quartet album “Flood Tide” released on Babel September 2011 featuring an all original programme played by Crockatt, Hayhurst, Reynolds and newcomer Kit Downes (piano).
