ARTIST PROFILE

Yazz Ahmed

UK based trumpeter and composer of Bahrainian consent. Ahmed leads her own band, Ahmed Family Halfa and is also a prolific session musician whose credits include work with Radiohead and others. Her debut jazz album “Finding My Way Home” was released in 2011 with a follow up imminent.
In 2014 Ahmed was awarded a “Jazzlines Fellowship” by the Birmingham based Jazzlines organisation. Her Fellowship commission “Alhaan al Siduri - Melodies For Siduri” was premiered at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham in October 2015.
