Back In The Swing
I hope you’ve been enjoying the summer. I have! Now it’s time to get back into playing.
First, Interplay are back at The Albany Social Club for Jazz Coventry . It’s two years since we last appeared there. We got a real lift from our gig with Alina Bzhezhinska and Tony Kofi in May, and are looking forward to playing together again.
Friday Night Blues Party sees SugarDaddies back in action at The Somerville. If impromptu Blues jamming is your thing then this is for you! All players and singers welcome!
I’ll be jamming again in Rugby at the excellent monthly Jazz Jam run by Ian Hill, one of the finest sax players in the area. I’m looking forward to it!
There’s some big news for Shkayla fans too! We are presenting Jacqui McShee’s Circle with us in a major double bill at the Coventry Belgrade in October. Circle is Jacqui’s top-flight new band after all her fantastic work with Pentangle which spanned over 50 years! It includes Coventry’s celebrated Kev. Dempsey on guitar, so expect a wide ranging programme of progressive Folk and Rock. We are able to stage this because of some funding awarded by Arts Council England.
