Highlights:


David McAlmont’s first CD in a decade, ‘The Last Bohemians’ by McAlmont & Webb, will be released in November and distributed worldwide by Lateralize.  The album, a mixture of original compositions and some left-field covers (including R.E.M., Queen, Radiohead and Suede) features Tony Kofi, Andy Davies, Jihad Darwish, Pete Hill and Jonathan Preiss, with arrangements by MD and pianist Alex Webb.


Copasetic productions are featured in several events during the 2019 EFG London Jazz Festival, including an album launch for ‘The Last Bohemians’ by McAlmont & Webb at Hampstead Jazz Club on Tuesday 19 November; Jo Harrop & British Standard Time at the Boulevard Theatre on Wednesday 20 November and Tony Kofi’s ‘A Portrait of Cannonball’ at the Other Palace Studio on Saturday 23 November.


‘A Portrait of Cannonball’ will be recording a live album for The Last Music Company at the Bear Club, Luton on – please note date change - Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December.  The album will have a spring 2020 release.


The first season’s bookings for ‘Soho Sounds: Jazz’ at Soho’s newest theatre, the Boulevard (http://boulevardtheatre.co.uk/) is now complete, starting with the house trio of Alex Webb (piano), Andy Champion (bass) & Pete Hill (drums) and special guest David McAlmont on Wednesday 6 November.  Joining the house trio on subsequent weeks will be China Moses, Anna Ross, Vimala Rowe, Cherise Adams-Burnett and Sandra-Mae.

‘David McAlmont presents Billie Holiday at Carnegie Hall’ at the Hideaway, Empire Mews, Streatham SW16 2BF.  Inspired by the legendary 1956 concert at which Billie Holiday’s music was accompanied by extracts from her autobiography Lady Sings The Blues, McAlmont gives his unique interpretations of the Lady Day catalogue with a band led by piano/MD Alex Webb.  Tickets & info: https://www.hideawaylive.co.uk/david-mcalmont-presents-billie-holiday-saturday-7th-september-2019
