Events in June;

09/06/18 8pm - Luca Caruso Trio - £5
In 2014, drummer Luca Caruso, saxophonist Sean Payne and bassist Freddie Jensen met at the Royal Academy of Music Junior Jazz program and have since been playing together regularly as a trio, as well as in multiple other musical situations. The band’s repertoire consists of original compositions written specifically for this unusual lineup, as well as standards arranged to suit the sound.

10/06/18 11am-2pm - The Surgery - £5 per 30 min session
Reaching out to artists from various disciplines, to come and receive guidance and support on production, law and industry, from our very own events manager, artist and law student – LaToyah Gill.

10/06/18 6pm - JJ’s Jam - £5
Jj’s Jam is a jam session pulling in musicians from all around the Capital. It is an indiscriminate project; just bring your instrument and play a tune. There is a house band there to fill in the gaps with some classic jazz standards.

13/06/18 1pm - Cafe Sessions w. Lauren Diamond - £Free, arrive early to guarantee a seat
Lauren Diamond is an Artist originally from the East Coast of the USA and currently residing in Austin, TX “Live Music Capital of the World,”. She will be serenading the audience with an intimate acoustic guitar and ukulele set. Her music is captivating, raw and speaks to the soul. There will be a mixture of both original and cover tunes that you’ll be sure to enjoy. She is featured on a compilation record with legendary artists: Willie Nelson, Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, Third Eye Blind, etc. Ms. Diamond’s album is featured onPandora Radio, iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud, and many other digital platforms.

17/06/18 12pm - Alma Street Fair - £Free
Alma Street and surrounding roads in the Inkerman Conservation Area will be closed to traffic to allow us to celebrate summer and all the good things about living in Kentish Town. More than 100 stalls offering street food, art, crafts… coffee, cake, lemonade, fruit… the famous Flaxon Ptootch cocktail tent… ales from Camden Town Brewery… games, face painting… At a collaboration between the community, charities, local schools and commercial enterprises.

20/06/18 7.30pm - FilmLab3 - £TBC
FilmLab is our year-round programme aimed at providing valuable support and networking opportunities to all applicants for the Pears Short Film Fund at UKJF, as well as to any emerging filmmakers looking to get their film project off the ground.

21/06/18 6pm - Bouba Kiki - £5
It’s with great excitement that we introduce our new event – Bouba Kiki. On the third Sunday of each month MAP Café will visit the cuisine and musical culture of different regions across the world. With the help of our new resident DJ and eclectic tastemaker Jasper Kirton, the Café will be immersed in the world’s most vibrant foods and sounds.

23/06/18 8pm - Robert Clarke - £7
An evening where you, the audience, will be encouraged to hear their voices as instruments, providing harmonies and backing to covers of old classics from Blues, Jazz, Soul & Reggae with a few contemporaries thrown in. This will be an evening where music warms the heart and feeds the soul with classics and contemporary songs performed Acapella with only Harmonicas and a vocal processor!

24/06/18 2pm - Untamed Thinkers - £Free
Come along and sharpen your intellect on concepts that lie outside of general chit-chat. Hosted by LaToyah Gill (The Untamed Artist), the forum will comprise of presentations and discussions which focus on academic, theoretical and speculative topics. Topic: Mortality

24/06/18 8pm - NOCURFEW SUMMER BALL - £5
NoCurfew gear is holding an intimate summer set showcasing the rawest talents from South West London. Sounds will feature trap, grime, and hiphop- performed by our homegrown talent. Join us in celebrating real content, lively vibes & proper company, all during a lovely summers evening.

All in addition to our regular recurring events:

Every Friday is REGGAE NIGHT, a free entry event where DJ’s ROOTS TING spin his encyclopaedic library of classic reggae dubplates.

On Wednesdays we have CHESS CLUB a great way of meeting new local people while brushing up your chess skills! All ages and skill levels welcome starting at 4:30.

Followed by The Lost Film Society, screening lost films of old and the obscure; Films that make you think, question and get you all fired up! This season we’ll be showing films by the master of suspense himself Alfred Hitchcock.

We also have our free open mic night THE ARTERY, is on Thursday 14th and 28th – open to all-comers and audiences focussing mainly on acoustic music, but there are no rules! Compèred by Laurence Wood and talented songster Toby Nuttall. The Artery creates a warm and supportive atmosphere where performers young and old, new or experienced will be listened to and appreciated.

Looking for a Venue? MAP is available to hire for private parties, weddings, concerts, film shoots, record industry showcases, theatre productions, workshops, corporate events, film screenings, conferences and meetings. We offer a range of catering solutions from a simple buffet to three course meals with Champagne,  with two fully stocked bars, draught beer and full PA system.
