The Vortex Jazz Club brings you London’s most exhilarating programme of jazz and improvised music.
17 - 24 August
Award-winning vocalist Georgia Mancio comes to the club on Saturday - this is one to catch! Hey lovers of improv the Fete Qua Qua Festival 2018 is almost here! Presenting some of the best in free improvisation that gets down to the nitty gritty, and led by John Russell. Norwegian Trio Kjetil Mulelid will entertain you mid-week. Andy Hamilton of The Wire wrote of their last album , “It took me several listens to fully realise just how magical this album is”. It is magical indeed.
A late addition to the programme is the Tom Ollendorff Quartet feat. Tom Barford and Conor Chaplin on Thursday.

Mark is one of England’s most versatile drummers. “It’s all in the groove”, he says whether it’s straight ahead jazz, free improvised music, rock and world music. He’s often seen at the Vortex with guitarist John Etheridge.

The musicians taking part this year come from a mix of backgrounds and experiences which should lead to some very exciting exchanges. Each concert starts and finishes with a short piece by the full ensemble and the interim programme comprises changing combinations of musicians that are different for each event.
