New project combining modern jazz, Scandinavian improvised music, Eastern European folk and contemporary classical
Polish guitarist Jakub Klimiuk, now based in London, made his first appearance on the British jazz scene at the EFG London Jazz Festival in 2022, performing music from his quintet’s EP “Reluctance”. He has performed in jazz clubs across the UK including Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham and St Ives, in addition to major jazz venues in London such as PizzaExpress Live and the Vortex.

With his quintet, Jakub fuses elements of modern jazz inspired by the New York scene with influences drawn from the Scandinavian improvised music scene. The resultant repertoire is a thrilling combination of scripted forms and improvised sections, constantly entwining melodic compositions and experimental sonic escapades.
