The Royal Albert Hall has just unveiled its second season of Late Night Jazz artists for 2026, boasting its largest programme yet with eleven acts billed across the spring. All but one of the upcoming season’s artists are debutants on the Elgar Room stage, with sounds ranging from classical and ambient jazz to afro beat-influenced and future soul-infused subgenres.
In celebration of International Jazz Day on Thursday 30 April, Gary Crosby CBE and Cameron Pierre Quartet will open the spring season in the 200-capacity Elgar Room alongside Jamaican virtuoso guitarist Ernest Ranglin OJ OD, BBC Young 2022 Jazz Musician of the Year finalist Luke Bacchus on piano, and Olivier award-winning composer Romarna Campbell on drums.
The first of five performances in May comes from Elysia Biro on Friday 1 May. The 26-year-old’s song writing blends modern pop structures and classical technique with jazz sensibilities. Her expressive and introspective songs, paired with her warm, soulful vocals reflect her journey through self-discovery and love, which has quickly amassed a dedicated audience through social media.
The following week (Thursday 7 May) Rosie Turton and Miryam Solomon present their new duo album maar as a Relaxed Late Night Jazz event. The album is an exploratory conversation between voice, modular synthesizer and trombone. Rosie Turton has been named ‘One To Watch’ by The Guardian and nominated for Jazz FM’s ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’, blending meditative soundscapes with acoustic and electronic elements, while London-based vocalist Miryam Solomon has most recently been recording and performing with Florence + The Machine.
Christoper White Collective perform on Thursday 14 May, having been a presence in the London music scene for nearly three decades. Alongside his work with Van Morrison, Christopher continues to compose for film and television and leads his own ensemble, Christopher White Collective, a project that explores the intersection of jazz, ambient, and cinematic sound worlds.
Bradley Miller, known artistically as cktrl (pronounced “control”), is a self-taught producer and classically trained clarinettist whose music blends classical, ambient, jazz, and RnB influences, exploring themes of love, healing, vulnerability, and Black identity. He will perform tracks from his debut album on Thursday 21 May.
Making her Elgar Room debut on Thursday 28 May, Gabrielle Stravelli will present an adventurous set of songs from jazz, pop, the American Songbook and beyond. Gabrielle specializes in presenting rarely heard gems from the jazz repertoire, alongside her original lyrics, melodies and instrumental solos.
Matt Todd, Director of Programming at the Royal Albert Hall, said, “We’re immensely proud of what our Late Night Jazz series has become, going from strength-to-strength over the last 15 years. With another programme of progressive, inventive and intimate performances scheduled, the Elgar Room has well and truly established itself as being at the heart of the London jazz scene. We’re excited for this new season to get underway so we can continue to platform artists who both honour the rich legacy of jazz while also redefining and shaping its sound for future generations.”
