Upcoming Highlights from Green Note + A Job Vacancy + A Special Offer!

Hello music lovers,

Hope you’re all having a good Summer so far!

We’ve got some great music coming up for you this month… so if you’re not away on holiday, why not check out our listings and come treat yourself to some live music!

On Saturday 13th August, we look forward to the return of one of our all time favourite bands, who have often graced the Green Note stage and never fail to put on an AMAZING show: JOSE MCGILL & THE VAGABAND with their extraordinary blend of Americana, toe-tapping folk-jazz and soulful rock. The Vagaband are designed to be lapped up in huge gulps by an audience that likes to have all their musical needs satisfied and their dancing shoes cajoled into action as well. They are really something special, so if you haven’t seen them before (and even if you have!) we recommend buying tickets now, as this is really one not to miss!

We’re also looking forward to an intimate gig from legendary guitarist and songsmith JOHN VERITY (Sunday 14th August), whose musical career began in the 1960s and saw his band opening shows for the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. He continues to perform with the John Verity Band (this year celebrating 50 years of his band!), but this show is one of John’s occasional acoustic gigs and will see the launch of a new acoustic album.

Other upcoming highlights include… Captivating music that blends Soul, Blues, Funk, Jazz, Latin and Hip Hop from KIHAYA BLUES (Fri 12th Aug), a special eclectic double bill featuring Missouri based singer-songwriter TODD DAY WAIT and renowned virtuoso Aussie flautist LINA ANDONOVSKA (Thurs 11th Aug), and a late addition to the calendar this Friday (5th Aug) - a night of old school Doo Wop, Jazz, Soul & Americana with acapella close harmony singing and stunning improvisation from the road warriors that are WANDERING SOUL! As always, these are just some of the shows we have coming up, so do keep an eye on our events page for the full listings.

We are looking for a part-time bar-tender to join our lovely team. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, friendly, responsible and has previous bar/hospitality experience, as well as a broader interest in Green Note and what we do. Whoever takes this role would need to be available to work evenings and weekends. We are looking for someone who is both able to work well on their own, and as part of a team. Supervising experience is a bonus. If you think you might be right for this position or know someone who is, please email us a CV and brief covering letter, telling us a bit about yourself and outlining why you want to work for us.

Free Now (an online cab service) who are the official sponsors of the Mercury Prize, are working together with Music Venue Trust sponsoring some live music events over the coming months, including some at Green Note. If you download the Free Now app, you can use our unique code Gnote50 to get 50% off rides… Could be good if you’re getting a cab to or from one of our gigs! 😉

If you don’t yet have plans for tonight, why not come check out stunning Americana duo THE MARRIAGE. Only a few tickets left for this one so get em quick!

Hope to see you soon!

Lots of love,
Immy & Risa xx
