ARTIST PROFILE

Wadada Leo Smith

American trumpeter (born 1941) associated with the AACM movement in Chicago in the 60’s and later a convert to Rastafarianism. Still remarkably active creatively he continues to view jazz as a “world music” in the most positive sense of the phrase.
