Wadada Leo Smith
American trumpeter (born 1941) associated with the AACM movement in Chicago in the 60’s and later a convert to Rastafarianism. Still remarkably active creatively he continues to view jazz as a “world music” in the most positive sense of the phrase.
"A contrasting double album from trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith featuring his Golden and Organic bands"
"A stamp of authority from a band leader who knows he’s bought everything together nicely this time around."
