Beirut born trumpeter now based in Paris.His latest album “Wind” (2013), a film soundtrack, combines the stylings of Kind of Blue era Miles Davis with the sound of the Middle East courtesy of Maalouf’s distinctive quarter tone trumpet. The album features an all star quintet including Larry Grenadier (bass), Clarence Penn ( drums), Mark Turner (sax) and Frank Woeste (piano).
