29th Em Craig Quartet -
This quartet, formed by saxophonist Em Craig, promises to dazzle and delight the audience with a wide selection melodies, rhythms, harmonies and textures. The musicians are based both in South-Wales and Leeds making this gig a promising meeting of two large British jazz cultures here at the Flute and Tankard. The music is largely freely improvised with smatterings of bright melodic compositions paired with outlandish, off-the-wall noise-jazz. The quartet consists of: Em Craig: Saxophones, Harvey Parkin-Christie: Saxophones, Paula Gardiner : Double Bass, Teruki Chan: Drums.

The Flute and Tankard (music upstairs) is a small and intimate venue with excellent acoustics, The bar serves a fine selection of beers and other refreshments. It’s to be found in Windsor Place, just off Queen Street and car parking in Windsor Place is free after 8pm and it’s close to major bus routes and Queen Street station.

Start time is 8:30pm and admission is normally £10/6, but bear in mind that the charge goes exclusively to the musicians, feel free to contribute more in appreciation.
