A hugely impressive drummer with an international profile Jeremy Stacey includes work with the likes of Tom Jones, Sheryl Crow and Noel Gallagher on a vast CV and was one of the featured drummers with the iconic band King Crimson. Paul Stacey is a renowned and versatile guitarist who includes work with the likes of jazz vocalist Claire Martin, Oasis and Noel Gallagher as well as the Black Crowes and Chris Robinson. Julian Marc Stringle’s award-winning clarinet playing is widely recognised as amongst the finest in Europe, and with his contemporary approach he has demonstrated that this most traditional of instruments can be successfully deployed in a modern context. A fine saxophonist as well as clarinettist the band tonight also features one of the country’s most impressive singers, Jacqui Hicks (Shakatak). Performing a combination of excellent funky original material as well as choice Jazz standards this is without question a classy gig.

Sun 5th   1:30pm   SUNDAY LUNCH: YUKO YOKOI
The Award-winning Japanese singer Yuko Yokoi arrived in London to complete her Masters in Jazz…and never left. Since then she has performed at renowned venues in the UK, Europe and Brazil. Her debut album ‘Verde’ captured her love of both Brazilian music and jazz, and she describes her approach as “full of improvisation and musical shades of light and colour.” Joining Yuko on the stand is her impressive band including João Menezes-guitar and Jansen Santana-percussion. A lovely show.

A highly regarded, award-winning singer, songwriter and pianist, Frances Madden has played to full houses at leading jazz venues and festivals around her native Australia, as well as supporting artists such as Dionne Warwick & Grammy-Award winner Gregory Porter. Now based in London, she’s working on a new album with Grammy-winning producer/engineer Cameron Craig (Adele). With her unique take on selected American Songbook classics along with new originals the band also features the brilliant trumpet playing of Quentin Collins (Kyle Eastwood).

Mon 6th   8:00pm   CLEMENT REGERT’S GAB TRIO FT BEA ASURMENDI  
Tonight guitarist Clement Regert brings to the Club his latest project The GAB Trio, featuring drummer/percussionist/producer Steve Taylor on cajon and percussion and long-term Clement collaborator the expat Italian Gianluca Corona also on guitar. With this charismatic two guitar front line the trio perform what Clement describes as “a blend of Flamenco/Brazilian infused tunes and reworked pop numbers”. And watch out for their Special Guest, the rising star Basque singer Bea Asurmendi.

Tue 7th     8:00pm   SIMON WOOLF’S TRIBUTE TO RED MITCHELL FT IMOGEN RYALL
Lyrical and sophisticated, Simon Woolf is widely considered to be one of the most fluent and creative jazz double bass players in Europe. He has enjoyed long associations with many leading US and UK jazz musicians, including US stars Benny Golson, Harry Allen and Howard Alden. The quintet performance this evening is a tribute to his “hero”, the iconic US bass player Red Mitchell, who in addition to his prowess on the bass, was also a distinctive songwriter and these works provide the basis of the repertoire for this show. Featuring Imogen Ryall-vocals (The Cloggz) & Olly Wilby-sax this promises to be a real treat.

Wed 8th   8:00pm   DAVID GORDON TRIO  
After the critical acclaim given to the trio’s brilliant project “Alexander Scriabin’s Ragtime Band” (Mojo’s Jazz CD of the Year), their latest record ‘Pachyderm’, which they are showcasing tonight, marks a return to the group’s original compositions. The trio, also featuring Oli Hayhurst-bass and Tom Hooper-drums, will feature a selection from the new record together with some brand-new original compositions, choros from Brazil and one or two golden oldies. David is a world class talent with a playful sense of humour, which makes all his shows both intriguing and fun!

Thu 9th   8:00pm   NEIL ANGILLEY TRIO
Neil Angilley is a brilliant pianist, equally at home playing jazz, Latin or classical. An original member of Grammy-nominated “Down To The Bone” he has appeared on the main stage at Glastonbury with Dame Shirley Bassey and performed with Vanessa-Mae, Maceo Parker and Lionel Richie. Tonight, along with Davide Mantovani-bass and Davide Giovannini-drums he will be performing songs from his four albums in a fusion of Latin, jazz and funk with a touch of flavours from the East. “Inventive” Observer;

Fri 10th     9:00pm     PETER HORSFALL
Trumpet player/singer Peter Horsfall is a wonderful mainstream musician, probably best known for his work with Kansas Smitty’s. He has performed at most major UK jazz venues and festivals and has made numerous international appearances, including a week at New York’s Lincoln Center. For this show Pete will be joined by one of the UK’s leading pianists, Joe Webb and his trio. Brought together by a shared passion for early swinging jazz they have since gone on to develop a unique approach to jazz music of all eras.

An enormously respected musician New York based pianist David Janeway’s powerful, fluent, playing has been heard in a wide variety of settings, from straight ahead jazz through Latin Jazz to Dakota Staton & Junior Cook. And, he has many well-received albums to his name with the likes of Billy Hart, Bob Berg and Sonny Fortune. For this show, he will be showcasing music from his latest recording, “Forward Motion”alongside his band featuring the brilliant Alex Garnett (Ronnie Scott’s All Stars)-sax alongside Joris Teepe (Randy Brecker)-bass and Mark Taylor (Chet Baker, Roy Hargrove)-drums.

Saxophonist, guitarist, Musical Director, arranger and composer Harry Greene has rapidly established himself as an impressive addition to the UK music scene. He includes work in the UK, China, Dubai, and much of Europe with numerous award-winning artists, including the likes of jazz musicians Jo Harrop &Dave O’Higgins, soul and groove artists Mica Paris & Mo Pleasure (Earth, Wind & Fire) and popular music artists including Rumer, KT Tunstall and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson. Today Harry and his quartet will perform a high-quality set incorporating his love of jazz, blues and just a little funk.

Sun 12th   8:00pm   RAPHAEL TATE  
US-born singer, songwriter & musician Raphael Tate relocated to the UK in 2020 (somewhat accidentally, due to the pandemic!) and since then his career has blossomed. A “musician’s musician” his powerful vocals were the talk of the industry, but it was his 2023 breakout performance on ITV’s Starstruck, with his homage to the ‘Godfather of Soul’ James Brown, that really brought him to the attention of a wider audience. He has gone on to release new tracks (regularly featured on BBC Radio 1Xtra), and now a new album, ‘Love Grieve Live’, music from which he’ll be performing this evening alongside tracks from his upcoming EP.  And watch out for his All-Star band featuring Luke Smith-keyboards.

A BBC Introducing Artist (Glastonbury) Louise’s powerful, clear, soulful voice has been heard supporting artists such as George Benson, Roberta Flack, Roy Ayers and Omar. A Caffe Nero Artist of the Month her music is primarily neo soul originals with some classics thrown in and can be heard on the likes of BBC 1 Xtra, 6 Music, Jazz FM, Mi Soul, Radio 2 and radio stations across Europe. This evening Louise be featuring tracks from her latest, highly regarded and well-received album “Renaissance”, alongside her fantastic band of hand-picked musicians.

Tue 14th   8:00pm   JONATHAN GEE WITH SPECIAL GUESTS GAETANO PARTIPILO & DENYS BAPTISTE
The award-winning pianist/singer Jonathan Gee is a long established and respected bandleader and sought-after sideman who includes work with the likes of Pharoah Sanders, Benny Golson and Mark Murphy. Tonight Jon’s special guest will be the wonderfully fluent and impressive Italian alto saxophonist Gaetano Partipilo (Jason Moran, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Billy Cobham). With arrangements from their recent album “Reimagining The Beatles”, described by London Jazz News as “a great listen”, the band will also feature MOBO & Mercury Prize-winning saxophonist Denys Baptiste (McCoy Tyner), making this an exceptional quintet.

Wed 15th   8:00pm   MIKE REDFERN BAND FT. GEORGIA VAN ETTEN & TOMMY HARE              
The impressively fluent and versatile guitarist Mike Redfern has quickly established himself as a go-to sideman for the likes of Pixie Lott & Ashton Jones. His band started, as Mike puts it, to “play some favourite deep cuts from the worlds of Soul, R&B, Blues and Americana” and will showcase fresh arrangements of tunes by the likes of Eva Cassidy, Jon Cleary, Stevie Wonder and more. Expect hard hitting grooves brought to you by some of the UKs most exciting musicians, including two of the best singers around, Georgia van Etten and 606 regular Tommy Hare (Coalminers).
