An appeal from Mak Murtic and Mimika Orchestra.

Tuesday, March 07, 2017

Croatian born, London based composer Mak Murtic has launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign to help finance a new album by his large ensemble Mimika Orchestra. Details attached.

From Mak Murtic via Facebook;

Mimika is continuing to raise funds for the completion of our new psychedelic / jazz / world album.

Mimika Orchestra’s new album is a musical and narrative journey set in the preindustrial Balkans, taking inspiration from folk stories, folk music, old South Slavic beliefs and historical events as well as contemporary jazz, progressive and electronic music. It is a dedication to the cultural vibrations and richness that take place all over the world and to our dear drummer Oberon King who left this earth in 2015. We aim to press this project onto vinyl, CDs and digitally.
