Dave Jones in semi finals of International Songwriting Competition.

Sunday, March 15, 2015

Port Talbot based pianist and composer Dave Jones has been awarded a semi final place in the ISC for his composition "Welsh Rarebit". Further details attached.

Dave Jones writes;

I’ve just heard that I’m a semi-finalist in the ISC (International Songwriting Competition), with Welsh Rarebit from the 2012 ?Resonance’ album by the Quartet (also a new version of it on the new ?Live at AMG’ album).

The jazz section judges in the competition include Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Danilo Perez, and Jean-Luc Ponty, and there were 18,000 entries, so I’m delighted to get this far with it?

I’ve put the link to the competition website below, together with links to my website and band Facebook page, and also to my page on the Swansea Jazz Festival site (which is the other bit of news) ? should be a nice gig.
