Vasilis Xenopoulos & Paul Edis
Monday 3 November from 2.00pm (lunch available from 12.00) at Guildford Institute, Ward St GU1 4LH
An hour of world-class jazz featuring tenor saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos and pianist Paul Edis with Marianne Windham on bass. Originally from Greece, Vasilis had just finished studying at Berklee College in the US when he met up with Paul in West London some 20 years ago. Their first album. entitled ‘A Narrow Escape’, was released in 2016 to critical acclaim followed by glowing reviews from around the world for their latest album ‘Feels Like Home’, released in 2024.
Bill Laurance Trio
Friday 7 November from 8pm at the University of Surrey, Stag Hill, GU2 7XH
Described by The Guardian as ‘A Jazz Maestro’ pianist Bill Laurance’s albums, whether solo, duo or orchestral recordings, have all been released to universal critical acclaim. There are few creative avenues that this brilliant musician has yet to explore and his latest trio with drummer Oscar Ogden and bassist Menelik Claffey has developed an innovative musical kinship. Allison Neale Trio

Unique on the UK jazz scene, American-born alto saxophonist Allison Neale is a beautifully fluent and inventive musician, who plays in a strongly melodic ‘West Coast cool jazz’ style reminiscent of Paul Desmond (of Dave Brubeck fame). Alexandra Ridout Quartet

UK born, New York based trumpeter Alexandra Ridout is one of the most talented young musicians on the international scene. Since winning the prestigious BBC Young Jazz Musician of The Year in 2016 Alexandra has received numerous international awards.
