Two benefit concerts have been arranged for ex Soft Machine bassist Hugh Hopper who was diagnosed with leukaemia in June and is currently unable to work.

Two benefit concerts have been arranged for ex Soft Machine bassist Hugh Hopper who was diagnosed with leukaemia in June and is currently unable to work.

On Friday December 12th there is an event at the Oyster Buildings Whitstable, Kent under the strapline ?Dedicated To Hugh? and featuring Frances Knight Trio, Happy Accidents, Johnny Atkinson, Annie Whitehead, Orphy Robinson, Lol Coxhill and other guests. Time 8.00 p.m. Ticket price £10.00.

On Sunday December 14th an all star cast will be at London’s 100 Club for an event organised by Hugh’s Soft Machine Legacy colleague the guitarist John Etheridge.. Guests include Soft Machine Legacy (with Fred Baker depping for Hugh),  John Etheridge with Roy Babbington and John Marshall, Liam Genockey, Sophia Domancic and Simon Goubert, Alex McGuire Quartet,Phil Miller’s In Cahoots, The Delta Sax Quartet, Patrice Meyer, and Yumi Hara Cawkwell.
The gig runs from 7.30 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. Ticket price £15.00. All proceeds to Hugh Hopper.
