ANGEL (Where The Blues Begin)
27 March 2026
Last summer, the remarkable vocalist Marvin Muoneké released his debut single Forbidden Fruit in collaboration with pianist and composer Alex Webb. The blistering, feel-good, groove-driven track sparked a wave of interest at radio with Jazzwise Magazine hailing Marvin as “a singing superstar in the making.”
Known as “The Young Man With the Old Soul,” Marvin possesses a rich, unforgettable bass-baritone voice reminiscent of Nat King Cole with those that have inspired him - Sinatra, Eckstine, Fitzgerald and Sammy Davis Jr. shining through. Sharp in suit, sharper in sound, he pairs a classic style with commanding musicality. But Marvin is more than just a great voice — he’s an accomplished composer, arranger, and songwriter who also brings serious firepower to the jazz trumpet.
Angel (Where The Blues Begin) is Marvin’s follow-up single — a heartfelt ballad with a gentle acoustic soul feel, written by Marvin and his pianist/arranger Alex Webb. It gives Marvin the opportunity to demonstrate his mastery of the ballad form, showcasing his rich, velvety voice, while listeners are also treated to his tasteful flugelhorn playing.
Angel (Where The Blues Begin) is released digitally on Friday 27 March on Copasetic Recordings (COP07).
