Upcoming Musical Highlights - September part 1
Hello Green Note Music Lovers,
As summer gives way to autumn, we’re keeping the energy alive at Green Note with a packed programme of outstanding live music to kick off September. Whether you’re a longtime Green Note regular or joining us for the first time, this month promises intimate performances, rich storytelling, and world-class musicianship from some truly exciting artists.
UPCOMING HIGHLIGHTS…
This week (TONIGHT in fact!) we look forward to welcoming vibrant American trio STUART, SPENCE & SHEBISH (Weds 3rd Sep) playing hard-driving Old-Time music. Also this week, unique jazz-blues duo STRUM & BLOW are back (Fri 5th Sep), with their swinging vocals, humour, and high-energy harmonica and ukulele-driven performances that channel the spirit of New Orleans, swinging blues band BIG MAMA’S DOOR and country blues and hokum duo VERONICA SBERGIA & MAX BERNARDI (both Sat 6th Sep) - let the good times roll!
If delicate folk is more your thing, come check out ANNA LING and her band (Thurs 4th Sept) - hauntingly beautiful harmonies, richly textured instrumentation, and songs that linger long after the last note fades. Or British-Americana five piece FORTY ELEPHANT GANG who combine folk and American Blues with classic songwriting (Fri 5th Sept) - both highly recommended!
Next weekend we have a debut from HUNZZ (Fri 12th Sept) - a five-piece funk/jazz/pop outfit who deliver powerful vocals and an emotionally resonant set. Then THE RIGMAROLLERS are back (Fri 13th Sept), who’ll have the whole room moving with their upbeat fusion of blues, ragtime, and early jazz played on washboards, banjos, and harmonicas. Also next weekend, the stunning BROOKE SHARKEY (Sun 14th Sept) returns with her evocative voice and cinematic songwriting, weaving together French and English lyrics with haunting melodies—this time joined by special guests for a show that promises to be both intimate and unforgettable.
T Back taking after a break in August, our “Green Note Hits The Road” shows are back in full force this month! This Sunday (7th Sept, @ Water Rats), THE RABBITTS bring their “ethereal and understated” ambient folk sound to the stage, combining acoustic guitar, harmonies, and heartfelt songwriting that evokes warmth and nostalgia. We’re also excited to celebrate two album launches this month at the stunning St Pancras Old Church - transatlantic singer-songwriter ST CATHERINE’S CHILD with her “softly stunning, mesmerising country-tinged indie” (Weds 17th Sept) and TONIGHT (Weds 3rd Sept), Grammy Award-winning Scottish-American artist DAISY CHUTE - both with full bands. Highly recommended!
This is just a selection of the many incredible artists who will be gracing our Green Note stage(s) in the coming weeks, so please do check out our EVENTS PAGE for the full listings. Whether you’re into contemporary folk, soulful alt-pop, foot-stomping blues, or vintage jazz with a twist, Green Note is your home for unforgettable live music! And please note that many of our shows sell out in advance, so we highly recommend grabbing your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
