The boundary-pushing trio of Anatolian fusion, Yasak Helva, are set to embark on their first UK tour this November, celebrating the release of their new album "Atamba". Press release attached.

The boundary-pushing trio of Anatolian fusion, Yasak Helva, are set to embark on their first UK tour this November, celebrating the release of their new album Atamba.
Blending psychedelic rock, grunge, jazz, funk and Anatolian folk with sharp, subversive and inventive lyrics, Yasak Helva have emerged as one of the most distinctive and
exciting acts to come out of Turkey in recent years. With cümbüş, çağlama, fretless guitar, percussion, their sound bridges Anatolia, the Balkans, Siberia and Western
Europe in a raw, immersive tapestry, rooted, sophisticated, and entirely their own.

They first drew international attention in 2018 with their interpretation of “Silifke Zeybeği”featured on Ironhand Records’ psychedelic’ Saz Power’ compilation. Their debut album Rektefe followed, earning critical acclaim. In 2024, Yasak Helva’s instrumental version of ‘Bu Nasıl Dünya,’ on a tribute album honouring the pioneering 60s/70s Anatolian rock band Moğollar, spotlighted their bold artistic vision. June 2025 saw the release of Atamba on Gülbaba Records a second album that propels Yasak Helva further into fearless, untamed, and unrelenting realm. Comprising entirely original songs, the record is already drawing international attention and stands not only as part of Europe’s Anatolian psychedelic revival, but as a raw manifesto.

Known for their electrifying stage presence, Yasak Helva will bring their music to life this November with four UK dates. The tour will be a rare chance to experience one of the most powerful and uncompromising new voices of contemporary Anatolian music, live and direct for the audiences in the UK.

Opening each night, London-based DJ Burak Çetindağ spins his signature set on rare vinyl, journeying from the golden era of 70s Anatolian psychedelic rock, funk, jazz, prog, and disco-folk to contemporary gems, all delivered through the warm analog sound.
