This North-Eastern group is co-led by the renowned jazz couple, Abbie Finn on drums and Harry Keeble on sax, also featuring hugely admired performers, John Pope on bass, and Dean Stockdale on keys. Their original compositions form a set of highly energetic and engaging contemporary jazz, performed by some of the finest musicians in the North-East. These highly established players deliver top-drawer performance, with deep roots in improvisation, and extraordinarily high-quality musicianship that will be a surprise to no one who knows the work of these artists as individuals.

Full Biography


Abbie is a drummer from the North-East, who gained a 1st Class Degree in Jazz from Leeds Conservatoire and a Masters degree from Trinity Laban in London. Her current main projects are her Trio and the Finn-Keeble Group. She performs with a range of other bands, and is a regular drummer for artists visiting the area including Vasilis Xenopoulos, Andrea Vicari, Alan Barnes, Art Themen, Greg Abate and more. Abbie had a feature in Jazzwise, and was dubbed the ‘one to watch this month’ and a ‘crucial member of the thriving North-East scene.’ She has released four albums to date with her trio, who have been dubbed ‘Exceptional British Jazz’ by Chris Phillips of Jazz FM. Alongside jazz, Abbie performed live in 2018 in the Jamie Lloyd production of ‘Pinter Four: Moonlight/Night School’ as part of the prestigious Pinter at the Pinter season on London’s West End. “Abbie Finn’s impeccable drumming is vivifying” - Marissa Khaos_TheUpComing.


Harry, originally from East Sussex, is known for a strong tone and style, he cites a wide array of inspirations from Joe Henderson, to Coltrane, through to Chris Potter and Allan Holdsworth. He is the saxophonist for the Finn-Keeble Group, Abbie Finn Trio, Russ Morgan Quartet, Zoe Gilby Quintet, and has performed with some of the finest musicians in the UK and beyond, including Alan Barnes, Andrea Vicari, Art Themen, Greg Abate, and others. Harry was described as “A remarkably versatile and assured musician” by the Jazz Mann. He runs the Harry Keeble Quartet, who have their first full album in the works, after their highly successful E.P. ‘The Beacon’.


They are joined by highly regarded musicians Dean Stockdale and John Pope.
Dean continues to be in demand as a performer with his trio and quartet, and as pianist for touring jazz artists, accompanist for vocalists and as a teacher and session pianist. 2021 saw the release of his second trio album entitled ‘Promise the Moon’. His latest release ‘Celebrating Oscar’ features new quartet arrangements of Oscar Peterson’s rarely heard compositions and new arrangements.
John is an artist with a diverse and expansive creative practice, who currently composes and leads his own chordless jazz quintet, as well as being one third of garage-jazz trio Archipelago. He has performed and collaborated with artists including Roger Turner, Mick Beck, Rhodri Davies, Greg Spero, Field Music, Anton Hunter, Chris Biscoe, Joe McPhee, Laura Cole and many others.
