EDITION RECORDS PRESS RELEASE:

NEW SIGNINGS
We are proud to announce the following signings to Edition Records for releases this Autumn 2015 and in Spring 2016

JASON REBELLO
British pianist Jason Rebello is regarded as one of the most inventive pianists to emerge from the UK since he burst onto the scene in the early 90’s with a run of albums for the BMG label. Jason has worked mainly with electronic keyboards in his own groups (as well as with Sting and Jeff Beck); but now he has decided it’s time to say something on the instrument he loves. In early 2016 Jason will release his debut solo piano album, featuring mostly originals inspired by the people and places that have been important in his career. As Jason explains; ?Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to play in wide-ranging and diverse scenarios, but never had an opportunity to immerse myself fully in the piano. I’ve reached a point now where I feel there is something to say with just a piano and I’m relishing this opportunity to consolidate all my musical experiences on this record’.

GERARD PRESENCER
Gerard first emerged onto the international scene almost 25 years ago, aged 18, when Blue Note picked him up to perform on the US3 version of Cantaloupe Island, one of the biggest selling Jazz/Rap records of the 1990s. Since then, he has played with a who’s who of international jazz celebrities including Chris Potter, Mark Turner,Jeff Ballard,Larry Grenadier, Niels-Henning ?rsted Pedersen, Randy Brecker, Herbie
Hancock, Chick Corea, John Taylor,Bill Frisell, Steve Swallow, Stan Tracey and Bob Berg as well as a sideman with Sting, Jamiroquai, James Brown,Zero 7, Ray Charles and Joni Mitchell. Gerard has been a member of Charlie Watts’ various jazz groups over the last 25 years, touring the world and releasing several albums in various groups of the Jazz loving Stone! Currently working as trumpet soloist with the Danish Radio Big Band, Gerard will release his long awaited new album ?Groove Travels’ on Edition Records in Spring 2016, featuring his compositions and arrangements.

London based trio MALIJA featuring saxophonist Mark Lockheart, pianist Liam Noble and bassist Jasper Hoiby and bring together a collective empathy and co-leadership with all members sharing the production and writing roles. These names will need no introduction to Edition fans, having played together on Mark Lockheart’s quintet album ?In Deep’ in 2009, but with their individual international profiles and explosive musical personalities integrated in a trio, there’s no hiding from the fact that this is the band to watch. Malija will release their debut trio album on 27th November 2015
