A rare European performance from the great American bassist Chuck Israels, described by Humphrey Lyttelton as “a superb technician who handles the double bass as easily as if it were a guitar’. Chuck is best known for his work with the legendary Bill Evans Trio but he has also worked with such jazz luminaries as Billie Holiday, Coleman Hawkins, Stan Getz and John Coltrane. Chuck will be joined by tenor saxophonist Fraser Smith, guitarist Jonas Metsäkylä and drummer Steve Brown.

Former winner of the 'Young Scottish Musician of the Year' and a member of the Humphrey Lyttelton band, Jo Fooks is a wonderful tenor saxophonist with a
mellow tone that’s often compared to that of jazz legend Stan Getz. Joining Jo is the hard-swinging pianist JOHN PEARCE, whose career has taken him all over the
world playing with such jazz royalty as Anita O’Day, Peggy Lee and Art Farmer.
Guildford Jazz anchor Marianne Windham completes the line-up on double bass.

A unique evening with legendary prog-jazz drummer BILL BRUFORD who set the standard for creative rock drumming with Yes and King Crimson before returning
to his first love, jazz. The Pete Roth Trio, which features Bill Bruford on drums, Pete Roth on guitar and Mike Pratt on bass, strives for an intimate, eclectic approach
that references everything from jazz funk to the classical music of Dvořák. This performance includes a pre-concert interview with Bill Bruford from Guildford
