Tuesday 13th May
ALEX VOYSEY BLUES BAND
Alex Voysey is one of the most exciting artists on the current UK Blues scene. Having spent the last couple of years gigging hard across the country with his band formed in 2021, Alex has gained a core following that has been built on the reputation of his exhilarating live performances. His new album Blues In Isolation reached the prestigious number one slot in the IBBA charts in May 2024, ‘an album full of stunning guitar virtuosity’ (Blues In Britain).
Alex’s playing owes much to the blues/rock influence of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa, coupled with a refreshing and high-octane personal style Their original material is engaging, complex and memorable and when coupled with virtuosic funk bass player Ben Hands’ monster 6 string Dingwall the talents of drum maestro Paul Arthurs and Andy Alpass on keys and theremin, this is a band that is constantly evolving and excites audiences wherever they go.

Tuesday 20th May
THE SHUFFLEPACK
Based out of High Wycombe, The Shufflepack deliver the rocking blues of post-war Southside Chicago in the manner of Howlin’ Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and Little Walter. Formed in 2010 as the house band at The Blues Bar in Tring, the five piece combo is fronted by singer/harmonica whiz Stuart Maxwell who has been playing the blues since 1986, he recorded four albums with Storm Warning and spent three years in former Bad Company and Matt The Hoople guitar man, Mick Ralph.

Tuesday 27th May
DIRT ROAD BAND
Featuring Steve Walwyn (Dr. Feelgood), Horace Panter (The Specials) and Ted Duggan (Badfinger)
The Dirt Road Band is the brainchild of guitar legend Steve Walwyn, mainly known as the longest serving guitar player with Dr. Feelgood (32 years). With the Dirt Road Band he’s implementing his dream of stripping everything down to the basics: guitar, bass and drums.
For the Dirt Road Band he has recruited two more legends: Ted Duggan, formerly with Badfinger and Banco de Gaia, and Horace Panter, a founding member of the Specials. Together they form a dream team that swings as hard as it rocks.

The original Henry’s Blueshouse opened in The Crown Hotel in 1968 and ran every Tuesday under the flag Tuesdays is Bluesdays. It was said by Melody Maker to be “the first progressive music venue outside of London.
Organised by trumpet player and band manager Jim Simpson, originally as a platform for Bakerloo Blues Line, later shortened to Bakerloo, it quickly developed into one of the most important music venues in this city.
Henry’s Blueshouse gained worldwide recognition as the birthplace of one of the most influential rock bands of all time, Black Sabbath. Simpson became their manager and took them from obscurity to a chart topping attraction with the single “Paranoid” and the albums “Black Sabbath” and “Paranoid”. The latter reached number one on the album chart, a feat not repeated by Black Sabbath until 43 years later.
