Marquis Hill - new EP and US and European tour dates, March, April and May 2026.
Wednesday, March 18, 2026
Trumpeter and composer Marquis Hill will be touring in the US and Europe in support of his recently released EP "Beautifulism (Sweet Surrender)".
Publicist Matt Merewitz writes;
I’m writing today about the trumpeter Marquis Hill in relation to a new EP that dropped on March 13, 2026. His EP Beautifulism (Sweet Surrender) is released via his label Black Unlimited Music Group, his longtime self-run label, distributed by Big Shoulders (Kurt Elling’s new label venture).
Three mixes of the title track were released February 6, and the track “Water (Feelings, Emotions)” featuring Immanuel Wilkins was released on Friday, February 27.
Hill is a native Chicagoan and winner of the 2014 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition. His work engages a trumpet lineage that includes Donald Byrd, Russell Gunn and Roy Hargrove, all players who incorporated R&B and hip-hop elements into their music.
Originally conceived as a trio recording with bassist Junius Paul and drummer Marcus Gilmore, the EP expanded to include alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, vocalists Manasseh, Zacchae’us Paul and Amyna Love, and MCs Kumbayaa and Cisco Swank, who appear on “Free #1A” and “Free #1B.”

These musicians are Hill’s long-time peers—many of whom he has previously recorded with or extensively collaborated or toured with—plus the emerging hottest young musician on the NY scene, guitarist Emmanuel Michael from North Dakota.
