Newcastle Arts Centre - Jazz Programme January, February, March 2026.

Newcastle Arts Centre has announced its jazz programme for early 2026. Events take place at the Black Swan venue within the Centre. Fully detailed schedule attached.

We have received the following information;


Our 2026 is wasting no time with providing you with up-and-coming artists and audience favourites from the North East Jazz scene.


We’re programming Jazz stretching across Latin, Blues, Folk-infused, traditional and contemporary. Alongside our long-standing Tuesday Jam and our Jazz Jam Sandwich for contemporary world Jazz, our Jazz Cafe Presents… programme has something for all lovers of Live Music.


And we are very happy to share that all our Jazz events - Jams and Gigs - are now…Free to attend!

 

Squabble
Tuesday 27th January
Presenting the Hammond organ jazz trio, Squabble.
Performing standards of the jazz world centred around the iconic sound of the Hammond organ, this well versed trio comprises Sid White on drums, Jude Murphy on double bass and Steve Chambers on the all important organ.

 

Liam & Shayo
Tuesday 24th February
Introducing a fresh fusion of traditional and contemporary jazz from young duo Liam Oliver and Shayo. With Liam on guitar backing up the gorgeous vocals provided by Shayo, these two are developing a big name in the local jazz scene, brimming with soul and emotion.

 

Jude Murphy & Dan Stanley
Tuesday 24th March
Established duo in the North East Jazz scene Jude Murphy & Dan Stanley’s music is laid back and classy. Jazz, Latin and blues driven by Dan’s stunning guitar work, Jude’s mellow vocals and stylish double bass playing. The duo’s set offers classics from Miles Davis and Kenny Burrell, catchy Brazilian numbers such as Corcovado, Waters of March, and the highly danceable Fato Consumado.

 

Bede Trio
Tuesday 31st March
Folk influenced Jazz from a local trio performing on bass, piano and sax, and celebrating the launch of their new album. The Bede Trio perform their own original work as well as some fresh arrangements of Northumbrian and Scandinavian folk songs.

The Black Swan’s long standing Jazz Jam with house trio, who invite all jazz instrumentalists and singers to join them and jam together.
