Samuel Blaser wins European Musician Prize 2018.

Swiss trombonist, composer and improviser Samuel Blaser was awarded the 2018 European Musician of the Year award by the French Académie du Jazz. Statement attached.

Dear Friends,
I am thrilled to announce that the prestigious Académie du Jazz awarded me with the European Musician Prize 2018 during a moving tribute to Michel Petrucciani at La Seine Musical in Paris.
It’s a real honour to receive such recognition and become part of a family of amazing award winners including many of my heroes such as Albert Mangelsdorff, Daniel Humair, Joachim Kühn, Enrico Rava and Tomasz Stanko.
