“Save The Vortex” Crowdfunder campaign launched.

After more than 30 years as one of the most important live Jazz venues in the world, The Vortex needs financial help to survive. A #SaveTheVortex fundraising appeal has been launched on Crowdfunder.

We have received the following information regarding this appeal;

After more than 30 years as one of the most important live Jazz venues in the world, Vortex needs your help to survive. Whilst other venues opened up last week, we’ve been forced to remain closed. With no income since March, no government support, and no rent relief from our landlord, we are literally fighting for survival.

We recently launched our #SaveTheVortex fundraising appeal on Crowdfunder. It costs £20,000 a month for us to be able to pay our rent and cover our basic costs. That’s just over £650 a day.  With no clear idea of when we will be able to re-open the club to a live audience and no associated income, we are completely reliant on the generosity of our loyal supporters and the public to keep going.
