The Green Note has forwarded its latest newsletter with details of forthcoming musical events.

Hello Green Note Friends,

July is packed with exceptional live music at Green Note, with artists arriving from across the globe to fill our stage with Americana, blues, old-time, jazz and world music. We look forward to welcoming you for another month of unforgettable live music!

We’re excited to announce a matinée show has been added with the brilliant BRENNEN LEIGH this weekend (Sun 5th July) after her evening show sold out so quickly. She brings her masterful blend of classic country, western swing and Americana to Green Note for a special day with one of Nashville’s finest songwriters. THE HOT SEATS (Sat 11th July) follow with their infectious mix of hard-driving bluegrass, old-time, ragtime, jug blues and early country, while SLO COUNTY STUMBLERS (Sun 12th July) keep the momentum going with spirited old-time fiddle tunes and vintage American string band music. MARTY O’REILLY (Sun 12th July @ The Lexington) rounds off this run of roots music with his powerful fusion of blues, folk and soul.

SAmerica’s Got Telent finalist STEVE RAY LADSON (Tue 7th July) showcases the rich traditions of the American South, blending blues, roots, country and gospel into a deeply authentic sound into what he’s coined ‘Blackgrass Brothercana’. RORY McLEOD (Thu 16th July) returns with his unique combination of storytelling, humour and extraordinary musicianship, while HARRY DIPLOCK SESSIONS (Sun 5th July) once again transform our Basement Bar into a celebration of Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz, joined by some of Europe’s finest players.

ABDOULAYE SAMB’S MINNJIARABY (Sat 18th July) is a late but great addition to the calendar - a vibrant celebration of West African music… Founded by Senegalese guitarist, singer and composer Abdoulaye Samb, Minnjiaraby - meaning “the love of cultural mixing” - draws on Fula, Mandinka and other musical traditions to create an uplifting, richly textured sound that perfectly reflects Green Note’s love of musical discovery.

This is just a selection of the many incredible artists who will be gracing our Green Note stage(s) in the coming weeks, so please do check out our EVENTS PAGE for the full listings.
