Jonny Nash is the perfect artist to open Season 4.0 at Shrewsbury Library’s Darwin Room. His music is spacious, comforting, and profoundly human, holding listeners close while gently inviting inward reflection. He will be joined by his close friend Tomo Katsurada, and together you can expect drifting, swelling, transportive soundscapes that pull you into subtle, immersive worlds.

Jonny has spent a lifetime travelling the globe in search of new experiences and inspiration. His musical journey has been equally winding and nomadic, from early explorations in cosmic disco to deeper atmospheric excursions inspired by his love of enveloping soundscapes, acoustic music, and the sonic possibilities of the humble guitar. Today, he is recognized as one of the most distinctive voices on the ambient and new age scene.

Support comes from Glasgow-born guitarist and composer Christopher Haddow, who experiments with guitar, field recordings, and tape loops. His minimal, layered approach embraces the serendipity of sound-on-sound looping, creating evolving atmospheres that feel alive, unpredictable, and compelling.

The matinee will be bookended by our dear friend, supporter, and local polymath Matt Sewell, whose unique DJ sonic palette will complete what promises to be a truly memorable afternoon.
