A message of hope from Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival.

Saturday, March 21, 2020

The organisers of the 36th Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival are still hopeful of staging the Festival from July 17th to 26th 2020. Statement attached.

We have received the following media announcement;

The 36th Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival

The Jazz Festival feels it important to clarify our current position regarding how it is, and might in the future, be affected by the coronavirus situation.

As of today, we intend to continue with the plans to present The Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival from July 17th to 26th.

We will closely monitor the development of the effects of the virus, and if it becomes apparent that it would not be appropriate to adhere to these dates then we will re-arrange for later in the year as appropriate.

The festival is more or less in place at the moment with 150 confirmed performances in 85 venues with bands and artists from the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, the USA and Lithuania all in place.

We will continue to evaluate the position of the festival fortnightly as events develop, and continue preparing the programme of events for public release by the end of May.

Venues, artists, festival partners and associates and festival fans have all been informed of the position.

I will be pleased to discuss any element of the festival at any time.
