Alan Broadbent - new album and special videos.

Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Pianist Alan Broadbent has been forced to delay the release of his new album "Broadbent plays Brubeck". He has given permission for two live videos to be released to be enjoyed by those in isolation.

We have received the following information from Jan Matthies Music Management;

We planned to release “Broadbent plays Brubeck” (piano trio with string orchestra recorded at Abbey Road in London) on Alan’s birthday on April 23.

Please find the video trailer here: https://youtu.be/rbthmqFg9gw

Due to the current crises we postpone the release to a later date this year.

To lighten up these days for everyone a little bit Alan gave his permission to release 2 very special videos that you might be able to share with your audience? Or enjoy for yourself:

1. Irene Kral with Alan Broadbent, Frank Dela Rosa (bs) & Benny Barth (drs) 1977. https://youtu.be/UKHUIY9ZTkk 33:09 min
A live set recorded September 11, 1977 at the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society 30 minutes south of San Francisco on Miramar Beach in Half Moon Bay.
It is concluded by a very rare interview with Irene.

2. Alan Broadbent Trio live in Lustenau, Austria on March 23, 2012 (Phil Steen bs, Kai Bussenius dr) https://youtu.be/e76f4-HniVY 1:48:27 h
This is the first concert in Europe under Alan’s own name. (first full-length concert video published)
The trio met for the very first time 1h before the concert with a 10min soundcheck.
Alan was on full jetlag having arrived on the same day.
