Chesterfield Jazz Club to reopen on 17th September 2020.

Thursday, September 03, 2020

Chesterfield Jazz Club is set to relaunch on Thursday 17th September 2020 with a performance by guitarist Carl Orr. The event will also be livestreamed. Details attached.

Musician and Club organiser Wendy Kirkland writes;

Tickets now on sale for Carl Orr at Chesterfield Jazz, 17th Sept.

Tickets are now on sale for the relaunch of Chesterfield Jazz Club, and we’re delighted to report that Carl Orr, the wonderful guitarist who has worked with Billy Cobham, George Duke and many other international jazz stars, has today confirmed that he will be joining us on 17th September. Visit http://www.carlorr.com to learn more about Carl. He was set to join Pat earlier in the year for Two’s Company, so we are thrilled he can come and work with us.

Please note there is now only one adult ticket price of £12 on the website. Those with membership cards have the option to pay £10 on the door, although we would like to encourage online ticket purchase if possible, to minimise the infection risk of handling cash. We will have disinfectant spray for any bank notes, but would ask if you intend to pay on the door, that you could please tender the correct amount, again to minimise transfer risks.

In the current situation we expect numbers to be much lower than average as we are only able to accommodate 70 in the room with safe distancing measures in place, while our usual outgoings remain the same as pre-lockdown.
For this reason, we have introduced an optional donation facility which can be applied at the time of ticket purchase - you will see this come up after you select the number of tickets you require.
The donation is not subject to further booking fees, and is a total cost to be added to the ticket purchase amount, it is not per ticket.
50% of the respondents to our recent survey said they would be willing to pay up to £15 for a ticket and 25% said they would be willing to pay £20 for a temporary period of time, until capacity returns to pre-lockdown levels.
This is, of course, completely up to you. There is absolutely no pressure to donate, this step can be skipped completely.

If you are not ready to attend in person, there is a live stream option. How does this work? We will live stream to a YouTube link that cannot be seen unless you have purchased a ticket. Before the concert, you will receive the link and you simply click on it on your tablet, smartphone or smartTV. If using a tablet or phone, you can also cast the concert to a smartTV rather than access it through the YouTube app on the TV. The concert will be streamed in HD video quality with stereo sound via up to 6 microphones and will utilise several camera angles to create a live broadcast feel, operated by our streaming guru. Full instructions will be sent to anyone who purchases a link to the live stream, and you can always ask us if you have any questions.

Tickets can be bought here http://www.bit.ly/cfieldjazz for either in-person or live stream concert format.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the club!
