Harborough Jazz Club has announced its programme for Autumn and early Winter 2026/27. Events take place on Sunday lunchtimes at The Three Swans Hotel, Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

Nick is one of the most in demand jazz guitarists in the UK, renowned for a deep understanding of the jazz tradition, alongside a virtuosic technique and progressive approach to improvising.  Nick has performed with some of the most renowned jazz musicians in the UK including Stan Sulzman, Jason Rebello, Ivo Neame, Kit Downes, Alex Garnett, Steve Fishwick and Jeff Williams and holds the guitar chair with the London Jazz Orchestra.
Nick will be joined by Dave Green and Josh Morrison.

Steve Waterman’s Latin Jazz Quartet

Steve is one of the top British Trumpet players both at home and on the international scene.  He began his career whilst studying at Trinity College of Music and since then has worked regularly on the British, European and International jazz scene.
The quartet features Latin music from Cuba, Brazil and Argentina with pieces from composers Paquito D’Rivera, Astor Piazzolla, Antonio Carlos Jobim as well as latin influenced pieces by jazz composers Horace Silver, Hank Mobley and some of Steve’s latin inspired compositions, many of which have been performed in Havana with members of Irakere, Afro-Cuban All Stars and Buena Vista Social Club.

Featuring award-winning saxophonist James Allsopp with Colin Oxley on guitar, Oli Hayhurst on double bass and Dave Storey playing drums playing music from their brand new album ‘Ballards and Bossas’.

Alan Barnes and David Newton

Award winning jazz musicians Alan Barnes and David Newton have been playing duets for over 49 years.  They cover a vast repertoire from Louis Armstrong to Chick Corea and play with an empathy that can only come with long experience.  David is one of the best solo jazz pianists this country has ever produced and Alan plays multi-reed instruments - all the saxes, clarinet and bass clarinet.
The emphasis, as always, is on swinging, accessibility and interplay.  Expect a hugely entertaining programme of straight ahead jazz, flawlessly played and interspersed with lots of anecdotes and peppered with humour.

Andy Panayi Quintet - Tribute to Cannonball Adderley

Top UK instrumentalist, arranger and band leader, Andy Panayi’s superb quintet will be paying homage to the music of Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley.
Andy’s appreciation of ‘Cannonball’s’ music has lived with him for many years and while writing arrangements to work with a variety of line-ups, he’s always stayed as close as possible to the original sound, featuring post-bop tunes from a golden era of jazz.
