The James Hunter Six Announces Return to the U.S. With Summer Tour
New Album Off The Fence Available Now Via Easy Eye Sound
“...the very best of Hunter’s skill set.” – Relix
“Hunter brings savoir-faire and authentic grit throughout.” – MOJO (4/5)
“Never a museum piece, nor even a throwback oldies act…Hunter hews closest, perhaps, to the great Lee Fields in his ability to sing soul music as if the 1970s on simply never happened.” – Living Blues Magazine
March 24, 2026 – Today, The James Hunter Six announced that the band will return to the U.S. for the first time since 2024 with a summer tour that begins July 1 in Denver and will take them through Nashville, Minneapolis, Chicago and more. This follows a duo of shows where Hunter supported Van Morrison in Boston earlier this month and a three-show run in Washington, DC, Sellersville, PA and New York City next month. The band will be celebrating the release of their critically-acclaimed new album Off The Fence (Easy Eye Sound), which garnered praise from Relix, MOJO, No Depression, PopMatters, AllMusic, WBGO and many more.

On the tour, Hunter shares: “It’s been a bit of a wait this time around but the U.S. Embassy finally granted me the official ‘Oh Go On Then If You Must’ certificate and we’re all set. We’ve had fun knocking these tunes together (one of them is quite good) and we’re looking forward to inflicting them on you at the earliest opportunity. See you soon!”
Dubbed “The United Kingdom’s Greatest Soul Singer” by MOJO, the British singer, songwriter and GRAMMY-nominated James Hunter has been a legendary fixture in the scene for over three decades. His eleventh studio album delivers another dose of timeless rhythm & soul and marks 40 years since his recording debut. Featuring twelve self-penned gems, each song is delivered with Hunter’s customary blend of smooth vocal control coupled with heart-worn grit and wit.
From the infectious blues blaster “A Sure Thing” to the beautifully moving “Here And Now” and even a rare duet with legendary Irish singer Van Morrison called “Ain’t That A Trip,” Off The Fence is the perfect amalgam of everything great about Hunter’s songwriting, delivery and outlook. He is accompanied by a band of masterful musicians that includes Myles Weeks (double bass), Rudy Albin Petschauer (drums), Andrew Kingslow (keyboards, percussion), Michael Buckley (baritone saxophone) and Drew Vanderwinckel (tenor saxophone).
