As a reviewer, so expressively phrased it! He has the ‘hands of a tarantula and the heart of a lion’.
We are very happy to be able to host Antonio Forcione for a second time this year!
Wine dine and be captivated by his talent and personality
And as one critic put it “Imagine an Italian hybrid of Michael Hedges, John McLaughlin and Django Reinhardt ... ferocious, rampaging, controlled power, meticulous precision and clarity of expression ... astonishing musical personality”
Antonio will have a special surprise guest with him on this concert
Antonio Forcione performs an enthralling one man, one night, musical journey, be up close and experience his unique and personal performance, especially for you, whilst you wine and dine and listen with your mouth full.
Doors open at 5pm tables allocated on arrival - arrive early to get the best seats, performance starts approx 8pm - 10.30pm depending on government regs at the time - could still be 10pm curfew in which case music will be from 7.30 to 9.45pm
From the first moment Antonio walks on world stages to rapturous applause, a humble smile on his face, guitar in hand, you know you are in the presence of a true artist and are in for an evening with a touch of magic.
And as the first deep, warm, intense notes float through the audience, you can hear a pin drop and feel the sonic spell of his guitar weaving through the room.
Get a taster here ..... Artistic, intense and formidably inventive, Antonio is a performer of genuine distinction. Ever unpredictable, his is a celebration of the unexpected elements in life, a music of rare delicacy, humour and, not least, passion.
Here at Le QuecumBar you can experience 1930s Parisian soul in a small intimate setting, stress free, without packing, catching a flight or boat, all in the heart of Battersea - be up close to the artists performing, in a romantic ambiance made for such intimate performances of some of the worlds greats.
Antonio’s impressive 20 albums and extensive international tours in festivals and theatres - both as a solo artist, in duo and with his acoustic quartet – have brought high critical acclaim from as far as Australia and Hong Kong to the Caribbean, Russia and all over Europe.
Dinner cabaret performance - your table is reserved and waiting for you with your ticket purchase - arrive early for stage side tables As this is usually a sold out event tables of 3 or less may have to share
More about Antonio…. Antonio’s numerous awards line the shelf above the piano in his west London home, a far cry from his humble beginnings in a small village in southern Italy from where he worked his way through art school, eventually performing on the streets of London to win the Covent Garden Street Entertainer of the Year Award. This led straight to a BBC TV appearance and a European tour. He hasn’t looked back since, nor has he ever forgotten his roots.
If you listen closely to his compositions you can feel the nostalgia for the village, the olive groves, the dusty streets and the first loves of a young boy.
Previous albums include collaborations with fellow performers such as Charlie Haden, Trilok Gurtu, Kay Eckhardt, Sabina Sciubba, Claudio Roditi, Rossana Casale…

Dear Friends, Supporters, Fans and Customers

Are you missing live music ?

2021 is here – sadly still without live music, Le QuecumBar lies dark, silent, lonely and empty in total contrast to the buzzing, steaming, swinging nights of foot tapping live Gypsy Swing performed here for 18 years since 2003.

We hoped by now the government would have given us some good news of meaningful financial support and when we can trade again and when you can all enjoy live music up close and personal – as it should be.  We wait…and wait …

We have already missed several big music dates in our yearly calendar – however Madeleine our music booker has been working every week to book – move and reschedule music in line with continued forced closure

·    New Years Eve – we had a cracking party planned and were forced to cancel

·    We have missed Dajngos Birthday 23rd January around which time we organise an amazing concert in celebration every year.

·    We have missed Le QuecumBars 18th Birthday Feb 10th another great yearly night of celebration and hot swing

·    And for all the romantics, we have missed Valentines

However we battle to survive and Madeleine our music organiser has worked non stop through last year and this, booking musicians 3 months ahead – cancelling and rescheduling – a gruelling task.

We continue to book musicians well towards the summer and look forward to you all returning for a great evening – when the garden will once again be open and Shisha will be available in the garden, we will continue with our early bird special cash deal £29 for 3 courses and a glass of wine.

We had some fabulous BA staff helping us last year and we hope this year, as soon as we can open – all of them super stars - spare a thought for them they have been on furlough since last March – many of them also volunteering for NHS wing man projects looking after staff at many hospitals and running hospitality rooms for staff.

Lukas joined us in November from Czech republic with his flair and pizazz – he has been working as a volunteer on our Instagram and other Le Q stuff whilst in lockdown – he will be back on the floor as soon as we open, wowing the customers with his entertaining style and special service.

I do not know if we will survive this year but we will push on for as long as is possible.

We continue with crowd funding from last year and are still a long way from our target of 15k – I understand times are hard for so many but please help us by checking out and sharing our crowdfunder page

You can also support Le Q by simply listening, to our live recordings from our own record label Le Q Records on Spotify and other platforms – or download our music or buy our CDs - details of links below.

Please take time to listen and leave a comment …wherever you are whatever you are doing in lockdown its free to watch …

Listen and spread the music that has brought so many of our customers so much pleasure and to remind you what we are all missing – keep live music live you can help and bring some joy back to these dark days.

Regards Sylvia and the crew
