Catalog
Introducing a new jazz night due to open in East London on June 8th.
?A night of cutting edge live jazz interspersed with vinyl excursions celebrating the influence of jazz across decades of dance, funk, soul and hip-hop.?
With Gilles Peterson’s current primetime radio slot, and new and established clubs such as Cafe Oto and the Vortex championing the brilliance and diversity of jazz to a younger hip muso crowd it seems the time is right to further the cause.
New Jazz night CATALOG is aiming to mix the new with the old and the live with the recorded. Playing live will be the most cutting edge of London’s jazz bands whilst DJs will share a selection of jazz-influenced tracks across dance, funk, hip-hop and soul, cataloguing its greatest moments from the past and present.
The night is led by promoters Andrew Button and Kirstie McAra; Button being a long-time jazz promoter and musician, and McAra; DJ / promoter of the Blue Note’s (Hoxton Square) long running Athletico night.
