January Highlights

Hello Green Note Music Lovers,

Happy New Year and welcome to 2026!  We hope you had a wonderful festive break and are ready for another year of incredible live music! We’re excited to reopen tomorrow and we’re kicking the year off at Green Note with a fantastic couple of weeks of performances, bringing together artists from across the world for intimate, unforgettable shows. We’re proud that our small stage is host to such an international line-up, and this month in particular we have a truly global offering for you!

Highlights include the extraordinary meeting of Senegalese kora master KADIALY KOUYATE and Chinese pipa virtuso GAO HONG (Tue 6th Jan) - following the success of their 2023 collaborative album - praised with a 5-star review from Songlines and winner of two Gold Medals at the Global Music Awards - the duo brings their spellbinding fusion of West African and Chinese classical traditions to our stage for their first UK show!

We’re delighted to welcome back genre-blending MAYDAN ENSEMBLE (Fri 9th Jan), who blend modern jazz with Arabic, Anatolian and Persian folk music. We’re also thrilled to welcome back the exuberant Eastern European gypsy-jazz of DUNAJSKA KAPELYE (Fri 16th Jan), alongside fiddle-led folk music from the mountains of America from JOE MANSFIELD & THE TEMPERANCE TWO (Fri 16th Jan). Later in the month our stage plays host to Argentinian tango from the heart of Finland with the LITTLE HEART FINNISH TANGO ORCHESTRA (Fri 23rd Jan), and the joyful harmonies and vintage roots sounds of THE TRAVELLING JANES (Sat 24th Jan). As always, we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

This is just a selection of the many incredible artists who will be gracing our Green Note stage(s) in the coming weeks, so please do check out our EVENTS PAGE for the full listings.

And if you can’t decide what to book for, check out our SPOTIFY PLAYLIST for a taster of what’s coming up in January!
