The new Upstairs programme presents a mix of jazz, contemporary soul, acoustic R&B, gospel, musical theatre, hip-hop, global music, classical performances and more. Upcoming highlights include a residency for Grammy-winning British duo Blue Lab Beats, Birmingham-born singer and pianist Reuben James, West End star and lead vocalist for Basement Jaxx Sharlene Hector, powerhouse jazz/soul singer Vula, one of the greats of British jazz Art Themen, Leeds-born singer and saxophonist Parthenope, R&B and jazz singer and Incognito lead vocalist Tony Momrelle, the revered UK singer and pianist Joe Stilgoe and much more.

Viva Cuba celebrates the enduring connection between Cuba and Ronnie Scott’s. In the 1980s, Arturo Sandoval and Irakere brought the sound of Cuban summer to the club, and Ronnie Scott himself made frequent trips to Havana and co-founded the Havana Jazz Festival, which continues to thrive today. This event is a vibrant tribute to Cuban music and culture, featuring performances from the likes of Jesus Cutino Band, Sarabanda, Carlos Miguel y su Dimension, Camina Band, Son Yambu, Havana All Stars, Javier Camilo, and CubaVida Band.

Donovan Haffner
Donovan Haffner, recent winner of the ‘Jazz Newcomer’ category at the Jazz Parliamentary Awards and Breakthrough Act of the Year at the Jazz FM Awards, is an alto saxophonist born and raised in South-East London. Donovan’s growing reputation as a compelling bandleader and composer came to light in a widely praised 2025 tour. His debut album Alleviate, recorded with his band, is a striking contemporary jazz release that captures his rapidly developing talent.

Buena Vista Live
Formed in 1996 by American guitarist Ry Cooder and Cuban bandleader Juan de Marcos González, the original Buena Vista Social Club brought together Cuba’s finest veteran musicians to revive the island’s rich pre-revolutionary sounds. Their eponymous 1997 album became a global phenomenon, winning a Grammy and celebrating the timeless magic of Cuban music.

Heidi Vogel
Samba soul meets new London jazz in a show blending Heidi’s jazz material with originals and the sounds of Brazil. Vocalist with The Cinematic Orchestra since 2006, Heidi Vogel has opened for Erykah Badu, performed at Montreux Jazz festival for Quincy Jones and appeared live on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, as well as performing at The Royal Albert Hall and The Sydney Opera House. Heidi has racked up an impressive list of collaborations, adding her vocal talents to performances with the likes of Thundercat, Sheila Maurice Grey of Kokoroko, Mark Lewandowski’s tribute to Billie Holiday ‘A Bouquet (for Lady Day)’, Xhosa Cole, Soweto Kinch, and for Bruno Heinen’s quartet The W, among many others.

Energy Exchange Records is an independent label operating between Berlin and London.
