Line-up announced for Merryfellow Jazz Festival at The Merryfellow, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, 29th - 30th August 2026.

Eddie Gripper will be hosting on the first Merryfellow Jazz Festival this weekend, with six performances at the restaurant and bar in the Charlton Kings area of Cheltenham across the two days.

Jazz pianist Eddie Gripper, who organises Jazz at The Merryfellow (previously held at The Suffolk Arms), will be hosting on the first Merryfellow Jazz Festival this weekend, with six performances at the restaurant and bar in the Charlton Kings area of Cheltenham across the two days.

 


Saturday’s line-up starts at 1pm with saxophonist Daniel Newberry and his trio from Bristol playing a mix of funk, groove and soul. At 3:45, guitarist Chris Cobbson will be taking the audience on a journey from South Africa to Senegal, drawing on his Ghanaian heritage. The day closes out with guitarist Nigel Price, joined by the Merryfellow house band, at 6:30pm.

 


On Sunday, acoustic duo Dafne from South Wales get things rolling at 1pm with the folk-jazz sounds of Joni Mitchell and John Martyn. Full House follows at 3:45 with a homage to the New Orleans brass tradition complete with big bass drum and sousaphone! Vocalist Elijah Jeffery wraps the weekend up singing from the timeless songbooks of Nat King Cole and Mel Torme, from 6:30pm.
